Lost Planet, Lost Planet – Colonies Edition, Lost Planet 2, Lost Planet 3, and Resident Evil: Code Veronica X added to Backwards Compatibility!!!!!
Well, these were certainly long overdue. Tweets can be found here and here. I’m kinda hoping that this opens the floodgates for Resident Evil games but I really doubt it. It’s just Veronica X is kinda on an island and they aren’t probably going to remaster it anytime soon. I think I still own the 1st Lost Planet game, another one of those games lost to time and never quite played. It certainly did the trick with Lego Batman 2, maybe that will be the case here. Enjoy your new games (the most in a long time).

BC Deals with Gold for the Week of February 19th, 2019
Well, I’m still playing Lego Batman 2, no surprise there. I’m over 50% complete (52% I believe) and running around in the city grabbing everything I can. I have not started a replay of the story yet, but I imagine by the weekend I will be (as long as I have all of the red bricks first). I would like to finish by the end of the month but know this pattern all too well when it comes to Lego games. Meaning after I beat the game, I can easily get just about everything except usually the last 15 to 20 gold bricks (or sometimes mini-kits). Then those particular items tend to take a week or so by themselves.
Well, speaking of Lego Batman 2 you can actually grab it this week for $5.99 which isn’t too bad. Some other Lego Games too, I’m secretly hoping that The LegoMovie Video Game for 360 goes backwards compatible. My 360 is in my movie room and I tend to just watch movies up there. Furthermore, it’s about in the same position as Lego Batman 2 is for me so it would be nice to try and finish up that one as well. The timing would be good as well since the second movie is currently in theaters (and could use a boost) Anyway, that’s it for this week. Enjoy, hopefully we’ll see a BC announcement today or Thursday.

King of Fighters XIII & Orcs Must Die! added to Backwards Compatibility!!
An interesting pair of games to say the least. I didn’t think we would see another XBLA/Digital only game anytime soon, that’s for sure. Still gives me a little hope for games like Outpost Kaloki X (which is also published by Microsoft). King of Fighters is available on retail copy as well, but unless you already have a copy you might be better off with digital as they tend to go for $30 and up. Good pair of games, would like to try Orcs Must Die!, maybe we’ll get a sale soon. (Hasn’t been a sale on that game since 2013) Enjoy.
- King of Fighters XIII $29.99 (physical copy also available)
- Orcs Must Die $14.99
BC Deals with Gold for the Week of February 12th, 2019
Well for the last week I have only been playing Lego Batman 2, I just finished the 10th story level and about 19% done total according to the counter. I’ve been picking up gold bricks and a few extra characters as I see them rather than wait with EVERYTHING until the end. Helps to keep me from burning out when I get to the end, kinda like Lego Movie (360 version) which I never finished even though I beat the main story (I might go back someday but I would probably run my way through the story first, or at least partially).
Anyway, we do have some sales (recycled) this week. Nothing we have not seen before, but a good chance to pick up somethings we might have missed. I’m really hoping that we get a few new games on BC this week to make up for a disappointing last week. Even some OG Xbox games would be welcome. But they always make a big announcement on those, so probably not. Take care folks and enjoy your week.

BC Deals with Gold for the Week of February 5th, 2019
Well I can say I did play a couple of “new” games last week, just not terribly exciting ones. I spent roughly two hours playing Football Frenzy (NeoGeo) and it was arguably still more interesting than the actual SuperBowl on Sunday. Then I restarted Lego Batman 2 (thank you backwards compatibility). I decided to start from scratch even though I had played through the first four levels (5 years ago) which was probably for the best. I’m now at stage 6. I’ll keep going for now, though it feels exactly the same as the first Lego Batman which really burned me out the last time I played it. It also reminds me heavily of Lego Marvel Super Heroes which I was never quite able to finish because of the awful flying issues. We’ll see.
Not many sales on the Xbox 360 side this week. Battlefield and well that’s it. Not too much to say about that. Much better off this week looking at the various indie sports sales on the X1. Anyway, I’ll be posting a few links later this week to a couple of movie/anime reviews that I completed for Upcomingdiscs. Until then, enjoy.

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes & Port Royale 3: Pirates and Merchants added to Backwards Compatibility!!
Very happy about these two choices indeed. Especially Lego Batman 2 which has been on my backlog for quite sometime (actually over 5 years) when I played it for a couple of hours and then forgot about it. Port Royale 3 I’ve seen in many an used shop so I might try to pick it up next time if its still there. All in all, a good day for BC. Hope you enjoy and have a great rest of the week.

Games with Gold for Month of February 2019
Looks like the new Games with Gold were announced this morning. This announcement is not half bad honestly. The only disappointment and this is a personal one is Bloodstained. Why? Because I was part of the Kickstarter that got this sucker for free. But I guess I was supporting a project, blah blah, etc :). The GWG did save me this month from buying the Bomberman game which I was going to get when it dropped to $15 or so. It does have some very grindy achievements, be warned. AC: Rogue is good but to be honest I’ll probably never play it. Finally Jedi Knight should be an interesting pick though I’d be lying if I wish it wasn’t one of the Old Republics instead. Enjoy your month.
Xbox One
- Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon (February 1st-28th)
- Super Bomberman R (February 16th – March 15th)
Xbox 360
- Assassin’s Creed: Rogue (February 1st-15th)
- Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (XBO) (February 16th-28th)
BC Deals with Gold for the Week of January 29th, 2019
I would like to say that I played something new this past week, that was not the case. I would like to say that outside of maybe half an hour with Road Redemption, I played anything at all this past week, that was not the case either. I spent most of my time messing with my old laptop trying to get it to work again. Which I did, after I switched it from Windows to Linux Mint. Yeah, I said screw this and went all geek on it. It’s working better now than it ever did with Windows 7. So take that Microsoft. I only use it for music and video editing anyway though so its a small victory I guess.
Anyway, moving on. We have sales. A whole heck of a lot of Assassin’s Creed (you would think some of them would have deeper discounts) and not much else. The most interesting non-BC title here would have to be Resonance of Fate. I doubt it will get added to BC this week, but it comes from Sega so a future BC announcement is certainly possible. So enjoy your Superbowl Week, I’m not really too interested in any football game that the Patriots are in (unless they are playing the Eagles) but I will probably watch nevertheless. Take care.
