BC Deals with Gold for the Week of March 17th, 2020

As mentioned last week, I did finish Sparklite and have decided to move on to other games for the time being.  The first was Invisible Hours which I spent about 1 – 2 hours which was interesting and I’m sure I’ll continue with it but didn’t exactly grab me either.  I also took the time to play Monster Hunter yet again.  The only thing that interests me at this point are the events since they typically provide crowns (I was able to get one more large crown) at a better rate and fighting multiple monsters certainly helps the ole HR counter which is at now 93.  We’ll see where it takes us.

We have a huge sale this week, probably in response to the fact that people are spending a lot more time at home due to pandemics and what not.  Trust me when I say this, it weighs heavy on my heart and I worry constantly about my family.  However, with this being a gaming column I’m not going to spend oodles amount of space going on about it.  In the same breath, I don’t have time to write 200-250 entries of sale prices because I am having to focus on lots of things, so please take a look at Major’s page and go from there.  There are tons of games and tons of DLC as well, so there should be something for just about everyone.  Enjoy.

BC Deals with Gold for the Week of March 10th, 2020

Well that went quickly.  I have actually beaten Sparklite, the final boss went down after about half a dozen tries.  Furthermore, I was able to clean up all of the achievements about an hour after that (which is really how all games should go).  I was really surprised by the TA ratio for this game and that only 30 something people have 100% the game.  But it’s probably the second best rogue-lite I’ve played (behind only Ziggurat) and a worthwhile playing experience.  In contrast, I tried going back and playing Monster Hunter and got positively bored after 4 or 5 fights and put it back down.  I think the next game I’m going to try and play is The Invisible Hours which I bought a while back since it was a Gamestop exclusive (as far as physical copies go).  We’ll see how that goes.

We don’t have many sales this week but that’s been the norm most of the time.  If you picked up the LA Noire Season Pass last week, you can now get the game for a decent price.  Or maybe you missed Deadfall Adventures from its time as a GWG.  Lego Batman 2 is a fantastic game, but that price is a bit to be desired to be frankly honest.  Whatever you are looking for, may you find it this week.  Enjoy.

BC Deals with Gold for the Week of March 3rd, 2020

Still playing Sparklite.  I am actually quite far in it, having grabbed 21 of the 27 achievements.  I have not beat the last boss but I would venture to say I am VERY close to doing so.  There is some element of luck when it comes to the power ups that you get but I am amassing a pretty strong character and think I have a very good shot at getting all of the achievements.  However, some of the achievements such as All of the Furnaces or All of the Beats might go beyond this week.  But it’s a fantastic game seriously, and I’m very glad I picked it up.

Well this week is kinda odd when it comes to sales.  The odd part is the only “BC” to list below are the two DLC packs for GTA IV.  Everything else is not backwards compatible.  There is probably some value to picking up one of the season passes if you already have either of the Alien games or L.A. Noire on the Xbox 360.  Else, it might be more advantageous to take a gander at the Xbox One list and see if anything suits your fancy.  Take care and have a good week.  Enjoy.

Games with Gold for Month of March 2020

Looks like the new Games with Gold were announced this morning.  Certainly a good list for this month.  I have played thru Batman: Enemy Within but it’s a good grab in case I get an itch to play it again.  The other three I have not played and would certainly be willing to give them a try.  Nice to see a Sonic game free too considering the movie is doing pretty well.  Enjoy.

Xbox One

  • Batman: The Enemy Within (March 1st – March 31st)
  • Shantae: Half-Genie Hero (March 16th – April 15th)

Xbox 360

  • Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 (March 1st – March 15th)
  • Sonic Generations  (March 16th-31st)

BC Deals with Gold for the Week of February 25th, 2020

Well, you can rejoice.  I am playing something besides Monster Hunter World.  The game is called Sparklite.  They had a physical copy sale @ Amazon for $9.99 and I quickly snatched it up.  It’s a rogue-lite game which means you die a lot but you get to keep your upgrades (and boss progress in this case) so you naturally get stronger (and hopefully can do more).  I’ve only beaten the first boss, I’ve attempted the second boss about half a dozen times but their log attack gets me every time.  I’ll keep trying for now as I’m loving the Zelda flair to this game and still want to keep trying.

Well on to sales for the week.  I know, you were probably expecting more than Rockstar Table Tennis and that’s it.  Of course Rockstar kinda missed the boat when they did not make Max Payne 3 backwards compatible.  It’s not like they are making a re-master as far as I can tell, so why not throw the players a bone.  Well, we should also get the new Games with Gold statement for March soon, possibly today.  Until then, please enjoy.

BC Deals with Gold for the Week of February 18th, 2020

Why yes I am still playing Monster Hunter World, however did you guess?  A slow week to be honest, I am HR 91, almost at 92 but I did pick up the 10 small crowns achievement.  I had started the week with seven small crowns and then got lucky with a couple of small crowns out of nowhere.  After that, it was a lot of investigation work until Uragaan became my tenth small crown.  If you are curious about my big crowns, sadly I’m still at 6, nowhere near where I would like to be.  But I still have 8 levels before I hit the final achievement and just maybe I’ll get close enough.

Well, another steady diet of sales for this week.  We got some Sonic, some Mass Effect, Dragon Age and Dead Space.  Nothing new or fancy or even discounted more (though I think GTA IV and RDR – Undead might be the cheapest I’ve seen), but plenty of fun if there is something you have missed in previous sales.  I did find a new game, Sparklite and might indeed start it this week since I’m on the closing moments of Monster Hunter World.  Hope you enjoy the rest of your week.

BC Deals With Gold for the Week of February 11th, 2020

Monster Hunter World update.  I’m at HR 89 and was able to finish the achievement where all tracks of the original monsters were at max.  My last two were the Kirin and Great Girros and I got fortunate as a lot of people were running the low level Kirin hunts.  Now I guess the march to HR 100 is on which will probably be my last stop until I get around to purchasing Iceborne.  It’s been a long fun ride but I am eager to get off the train as well.   We’ll see what happens this week.

A ton of sales this week and certainly worth looking into. Of particular interest, both the Capcom Arcade Collection and the All In One Pack DLC are on sale at the same time.  They had the habit in previous sales of doing one, one week and then a month later doing the other.  Well here it is in one nice solid bite.  It is also worth noting that the two BC Dead Rising Games are at their lowest price and worth getting even if you are just curious.  Some Xbox Originals are provided as well with Sid Meier’s Pirates being the standout at only $2.99.  This list is worth looking at least once just for the new % price cuts on some titles if nothing else.  Enjoy the rest of your week.  (Games after the bump)

Summer Days with Coo (Blu-Ray) Review
