BC Deals with Gold for the Week of September 12th, 2017
Well, I did finish the story for Valkyria Revolution. Go me, vanquished the Valkyria, all that wonderful stuff. Some of the ending rubs me the wrong way, but it was a great journey. Now to clean up achievements. I’m working on getting all of the missions to “S” status. I have about a half dozen left. After that, it’s straight grinding to finish up everything else. I’m hoping I am done by end of September but not sure how that will play out. Oh, and I took one more hour last week to beat Daytona USA on 360. Only really difficult part was beating the Expert Race. Everything else was a walk in the park…but the Expert Race took me about 8 or 9 tries.
Anyway, we got sales….a lot of usual customers and some interesting should be BC (but not) stuff like Duke Nukem Forever, Enslaved, Eternal Sonata, and Tales of Vesperia (come on, I’m practically begging you on Vesperia). Probably nothing for me this week unless we get some kind of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 thing going on (which is also on sale as well) but we shall see. Enjoy the rest of the week, hopefully we are done with this hurricane nonsense for a year now.

BC Deals with Gold for the Week of September 5th, 2017
While I was extremely lucky that my house and family are in great shape after Hurricane Harvey…trying to do anything involving Houston has been nothing short of a nightmare including getting to work. Ninety minutes today (normally it’s about 30-40) and I’m not even trying to think about the way home which could in fact be worse. It’s truly nuts. Well, I’m here. I’ve played a lot of Valkyria Revolution over the past week or so. I have one more fight to go (or at least I believe its only one fight) before I beat the game. After that point, there will be 5 achievements left…and a lot of grinding. I’m still on track I figure to finish it out before the end of the month but we’ll see.
Anyway, we have sales…well not officially from the Major, but from the tracking sites. Here are the Xbox One sales and the Xbox 360 sales. The Xbox 360 sales are particularly interesting as they include a few games that have not really been on sale before. I do recommend Guardian Heroes and Trine 2. I will grab the Streets of Rage collection since that’s an awesome price at $2.49. In the non-BC department, I am interested in The Darkness II even though I own it physically. It’s one of the best stories I have ever found in a first person shooter and really worth playing if you haven’t. I’ve been wanting it to go BC for a long time…maybe this will be the week. Sale items are after the -More-. Enjoy.
Wednesday 11:30 Update – Official Link can be found here. Also of note, Condemned is $4.99. I had seen a couple of places note it when the sales first emerged but every time I checked it, it was still full price. Well, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. I have also added it to the table below. Hope your Wednesday is going okay (Traffic in Houston really sucks right now).

The Walking Dead Season 1, Season 2 and Michonne have been added to Backwards Compatibility!!!
Well this certainly isn’t a bad announcement (I wish they would do Wolf Among Us which I have a 360 season pass for), but it is a bit of an odd one due to Xbox One ports. Personally, I’m not a real big fan of the Walking Dead series, I keep telling myself to play one of them, but that hasn’t happened yet. What’s good about each of these is that they are often on sale and the first episode of S1 and S2 are also free. So, free stuff, more BC games, lots of things to enjoy and stay dry with.
- Walking Dead Season 1 Episode 1 – FREE
- Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 1 – FREE
- Walking Dead Michonne Episode 1 – $4.99
BC Deals with Gold for the week of August 29th, 2017
Welp, for those who care (Hi Mom and Dad…oh wait you don’t really care I have a page either)…I am safe from Hurricane Harvey. Tons of water, but thankfully none of it landed inside the house (except from the dog coming in and out). Also thankfully, power was on at all times. So I did get to play Valkyria Revolution, got to chapter 10, so I’m certainly in the home stretch. As if I had to guess when I would beat it? Probably in the next 2-4 weeks. Get all of the achievements? Who the heck knows, though I’m gathering those here and there as well. On to the sales. This week, it certainly is a fair showing of various BC Deals with Assassin’s Creed leading the pack. Maybe we will also get Mafia II and Divinity II to become BC eventually as well, that would sure be nice. But we’ll know more as the week progresses. Enjoy.

Games with Gold for Month of September 2017
Another month, another announcement for Games of Gold, September Edition. I’m a little bummed since I bought Oxenfree during the last time it was on sale and of course haven’t played it yet. Also, no new surprise BC games for the 360 Gold offerings as both of those games were announced as BC a long time ago. Still, it’s a decent lineup and a couple of them are worth checking out. Enjoy!
Xbox One
- Forza Motorsport 5: GOTY Edition (September 1st-30th)
- Oxenfree (September 16th – October 15th)
Xbox 360
- Hydro Thunder Hurricane (September 1st-15th)
- Battlefield 3 (September 16th-30th)
BC Deals for the Week of August 22nd, 2017
Well, still going in Valkyria Revolution, Chapter 9. Characters are about level 40-44. I did get the 100 free missions achievement. So 10 left. I’m still not really playing a buffer type game, but World to the West (google it) should be at my house today. However, I know I’m in the home stretch for Valkyria (I think there are 12 chapters), so I’ll probably keep plugging away. In other news, I actually picked up two BC games over the weekend at my local Games Plus for $5 a piece. A copy of Fable III (so I don’t have to worry about playing with the collector’s edition) and Metal Gear Rising with soundtrack. Fable III is missing the manual (MGR is complete) but for reasons explained above, it doesn’t really matter.
Anyway, we got sales this week and plenty of BC related ones. Rage is probably the best deal out of the bunch. It is also worth getting since this is a multi-disc game and even if you like having a physical copy, this will make things much easier on you. Everything else is pretty much standard as Bioshock and Fallout are often on sale. Perhaps some of the other Far Cry’s on sale will hit BC very soon. Enjoy kids.
BioShock 2* | Games On Demand | 50% | $9.99 |

Battlefield: Bad Co. is added to Backwards Compatibility!
Welp, this is a pretty good title to add to the mix. It’s cheap (on disc) has no paid dlc (there are a couple of freebies) and still has a multiplayer apparently. I even am thinking of grabbing a cheap copy ($5 and under) when I can. Enjoy.
- Battlefield: Bad Co. $14.99 (cheaper on disc)
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance & ScreamRide added to Backwards Compatibility!!
Well, these couple of releases aren’t going to set the world on fire but at least it is two retail releases which is always a good thing. Metal Gear Rising is a fun little hack and slash title which belongs story wise in the Metal Gear family but game style not so much. It’s not bad though and there are 2 pieces of free DLC available. ScreamRide is a roller coaster simulation, honestly I don’t know much about it. Hopefully we’ll get another couple of releases on Thursday. Enjoy.
- Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance $19.99 (cheaper on disc)
- DLC w/ Achievements: VR Mission Expansion $2.49
- DLC w/Achievements: Jetstream FREE
- DLC w/Achievements: Blade Wolf FREE
- ScreamRide $19.99 (cheaper on disc)
BC Deals for the week of August 15th, 2017
More Valkyria Revolution. Now up to Chapter 8, I cleared three more achievements including beating Grand General Gustav and getting all of the community events done (which most people don’t seem to get until they are nearly done with the story). At this point I’m nearly 40 hours in. To finish the story, I’m probably looking at 60. To 100% the game? If I want to go that far, I’m going to guess about 75. But at that point, it’s just spending money and getting “S” Rank in every mission. We shall see.
Anyway, we do have sales this week. We have the normal suspects like Catherine, Call of Duty (insert title number or name) and Killer is Dead. All excellent (with the exception of COD) deals. But the most interesting thing? Mass Effect 2 and 3 DLC. Lair and Citadel are considered the best of their respective game and if somebody had to pick a DLC pack to buy, that would most likely be the one. Also, I think Darkstalkers will be announced as BC at some point. Maybe this week, we shall see. Enjoy kids.
Note: Capcom Arcade Cabinet All In Pack does require the base pack before you can play the game. In addition Mass Effect 3: Citadel Part 2 is Free but requires of course part 1 to play (which is on sale). I’ve provided links in the table for those two items.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II – Season Pass | Add-On | 40% | $29.99 |

Batman: Arkham Origins, Deadliest Warrior: The Game, Disney: Bolt, and Fighting Vipers added to Backwards Compatibility!!!!
Well the initial announcement was rather lame (though I would probably buy Fighting Vipers on a sale), but the addition of a very much wanted Batman Arkham Origins was very desired. Now I will say, Arkham Origins is disc only. But then disc copies should not be that hard to come by. I got mine a couple of years ago for $10 and by looks of Amazon it hasn’t changed much. I also possess the season pass which has gone on sale before for about $5. So, in other words you want might to wait on the $19.99 current price for that. A few might find some interest in Fighting Vipers or possibly Bolt because you have a kiddo. But good selections nevertheless.
DW, Bolt and Fighting Vipers Tweet
- Batman: Arkham Origins (disc only, about $10-$15)
- DLC w/Achievements: Season Pass $19.99
- Deadliest Warrior: The Game $9.99
- DLC w/Achievements: DLC Expansion Pack 1 $4.99
- Disney: Bolt $14.99 (Cheaper on disc)
- Fighting Vipers $4.99
