Mafia II and Prey added to Backwards Compatibility!!
Author: Michael Durr Published Date: February 13, 2018 Leave a Comment on Mafia II and Prey added to Backwards Compatibility!!
Well, while I did expect a couple of releases today, I can safely say I was not expecting Mafia II one bit. Mafia II was actually my third biggest want of the BC era. (The other two being Skyrim which got a port and XCOM Enemy Unknown/Within which are already BC). It’s a fantastic game, and I’m eager to see how well it plays on the Xbox One. Prey is also interesting as it plays different from the Xbox One game and was a good game in its own right. Also both are on sale right now with Prey being only $4 which unless you find it in a bargain bin is going to be as cheap as you are going to get. Prey has in addition a lot of free multiplayer dlc if you go looking on Xbox.com. Also, with Mafia II, try to seek out the Platinum version with all of the DLC. It’s hard to find, but worth it. Enjoy.
- Mafia II $7.49 (Currently on sale) (Disc (Original) still cheaper)
- DLC w/Achievements: Jimmy’s Vendetta Pack $9.99
- DLC w/Achievements: Joe’s Adventures $9.99
- Prey $3.99 (Currently on sale) (Also available on disc)

BC Deals with Gold for the Week of February 13th, 2018
Author: Michael Durr Published Date: February 13, 2018 Leave a Comment on BC Deals with Gold for the Week of February 13th, 2018
So, for the last week I’ve been playing Diablo 3 and Letter Quest. Diablo 3, I busted through Act 3 and Act 4 with my Necromancer who is now sitting at level 55. My prediction of finishing the game at level 60 looks to be about right. Letter Quest, I have half the achievements now but they are coming a lot slower. My enthusiasm is also waning a bit too. It is good to be played in spots but long stretches really show up the cracks in the game. We’ll see.
We do have sales this week. If you missed those late sales of Spec Ops/PB Winterbottom and Darkness II, they are back. So is a bunch of 2k sales. I’ll keep wishing for XCOM: The Bureau, Final Exam, Divinity II and especially Mafia II to go BC. Hey, those Tekken Tag Team 2 sales are becoming a lot more common, so it’s not unheard of anymore. Enjoy.

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction added to Backwards Compatibility!

Looks like I’m giving out another apology. My wife was in surgery on Thursday, and her grandmother passed away on Sunday, so making sure the site was updated was the least of my worries. Some days I’m not even sure I should be waking up but that’s another discussion. Anyway, while I am not that interested in this title, it is having a Tekken Tag Team Tournament 2 special. It is 50% off actually, and that is a very good thing. Still, the disc is usually cheaper than that, but at least they are trying. It’s a shame that the DLC isn’t on sale since that will run just as much as the game on sale. Anyway, it’s all good, yes my wife is doing better but won’t be 100% for a few weeks. Enjoy.
- Splinter Cell Conviction $9.99 (currently on sale) (cheaper on disc)
- DLC w/Achievements: Deniable Ops: Insurgency $9.99

BC Deals with Gold for the Week of February 6th, 2018

Welp, I did take a break from Diablo 3 this past week (though I did play it for a little bit) and started Letter Quest. Actually, I’ve played it a lot, and already picked up 16 of the 60 achievements. To me 100%ing it might be a bit of a stretch but getting in the neighborhood of say 50 out of 60 achievements is not. We’ll see how it plays out. Thankfully we got a lot of BC sales this week even if its ones we have seen before. Even though they are not BC, Undergarden and Scourge are kinda interesting as I have not seen sales on them before. Maybe a sign of what’s to come in BC land? We can watch and see. Enjoy your week kids.

Update: BC Deals with Gold for the Week of January 30th, 2018

UPDATE: A little bit of a disclaimer. These did not show up updated until after Thursday and therefore I completely forgot due to a number of reasons including the SuperBowl. FlyEaglesFly. Anyway, here are the sales for this past week. As you can see, this is worth reporting for the simple fact that for the first time I can remember, all three of the BC games released this week are on sale, and at 80% off which is kinda crazy. Add to that the Capcom Arcade Cabinet All in One Pack. Remember you still have to buy the base pack as well ($4.99) for everything to work out correctly. In my opinion though, it’s a ton of gaming and quite worth it. I’m thinking of picking up Darkness II for the simple fact that my copy currently sits in a steelbook (i found it about a year or so ago) and I would like to keep it there. I’ll have to look at the other two as well though. Enjoy, and again sorry about the late update, but I blame my excitement on the SuperBowl and how freaking late this was posted.

Spec Ops: The Line, Darkness II, and the Misadventures of PB Winterbottom added to Backwards Compatibility!!!

Oh heck ya. Some wonderful games were added today to backwards compatibility. I have had the fortune to actually review two of these games. (I’ll post links below if you don’t want to search) Spec Ops: The Line is a great game for those who don’t feel like playing Call of Duty or Battlefield. Darkness II is also a first person shooter as well, but completely nuts in a very good and satisfying way. To be frankly honest, Darkness II is easily in my top 10 of 360 games. PB Winterbottom doesn’t appear to be my type of game, but it does get high marks which makes for a great release day. Enjoy.
- Darkness II $29.99 (much cheaper on disc) – My Review
- Misadventures of PB Winterbottom, The $9.99
- Spec Ops: The Line $29.99 (much cheaper on disc) – My Review

Still playing Diablo III, got through the second act with my necromancer. I’m probably about level 45, 46. At the rate I’m going I’ll probably be near level 70 once I finish act V. I do remember though once you get to level 60, things slow down considerably. I really need to start something else though because right now when I’m given a choice between gaming, movies and sleep…I’m choosing either movies or sleep. Anyway, here are the sales for this week. You will notice no 360 sales at all, BC or otherwise. And I checked Storeparser and a few other places too…nothing :(. It’s frustrating because this is becoming more commonplace now and there are still plenty of reasons to have 360 sales. On the X1 side, I would like to get Letter Quest to use my noggin so to speak. It’s also only $3. I’ll update the column once I see something, but until then just relax and enjoy.

Split/Second & Lego Indiana Jones 2 added to Backwards Compatibility!!

And there you have it folks. Two gimmes in BC land. One was just announced as Games with Gold about an hour ago, and the second, the original was put into BC last year. And it’s a Lego Game. Still waiting for Lego Movie and Lego Batman 2 to be put into BC (and much rather see those since the Indiana games were a bit of a borefest unfortunately). But it’s there, both are available on disc and liable to be pretty cheap compared to their digital counterparts (except for Split/Second which will be free soon). Enjoy, enjoy.
- Split/Second $19.99 (will be as part of Games with Gold Feb 2018) (about $10-$15 on disc)
- Lego Indiana Jones 2 $19.99 (about $10 on disc)

Games with Gold for Month of February 2018
Author: Michael Durr Published Date: January 25, 2018 Leave a Comment on Games with Gold for Month of February 2018
Looks like the new Games with Gold are being announced today. I can’t say I’m surprised by Shadow Warrior…I’m just glad that I didn’t pick it up at $10 when I had a chance. Great game I hear though, so happy about that. Microsoft’s obsession with racing games on GOG continues with Split/Second. Split/Second is also not BC at the time of this writing so that means it will be made BC in the near future, possibly today. I’ll also snag Crazy Taxi, just because. Speaking of racing games, could we get Burnout Revenge in the near future, please and thank you. Enjoy kiddoes.
Xbox One
- Shadow Warrior (February 1st-28th)
- Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India (February 16th – March 15th)
Xbox 360
- Split/Second (February 1st-15th)
- Crazy Taxi (February 16th-28th)

BC Deals with Gold for the Week of January 23rd, 2018

Welp, still playing with my necromancer in Diablo III as you might imagine. I’m pretty close to being done with the second act and my character is level 42 I believe. As you might expect, I will be playing her until level 70 and finishing out the fifth act to get all associated achievements. At that point I should (key word on should) only have 2 or 3 achievements left (500 bounties, Level 70 hardcore and maybe the 50 item destruction item one). Then I’ll come back later in the year and tackle that. Remember, I’ve 100%ed the 360 version. While I am fairly confident I can 100% this version, I don’t want to suck myself into playing Diablo for the entire year.
Anyway, we got sales this week. On the Xbox One side, I’m not seeing anything really. In addition to what’s listed, there are some Pinball FX3 DLC packs that are on sale for those who appreciate them like I do. Just do a search for Pinball FX3 @ Xbox.com. On the 360 side, I have to think that SF3 becomes BC in short order. It just makes sense. Enjoy the week kiddoes.
