BC Deals with Gold for the Week of January 1st, 2019
Sorry I did not get to this yesterday, I know New Years are supposed to be filled with joy, happiness and promise but truth was it was none of that for me. Not that I wanted to be left alone, but what I ended up with for New Years was anything but good vibes. I am still playing both Gyromancer and Road Redemption. In Gyromancer, my goal is probably going to be 75 awards and beating it. Thankfully, I’m still on pace to do just that.
Road Redemption, I’ve gotten pretty far achievement and single player wise. I also figured out the main bug that the game has and that is it can not count certain achievements correctly. It doesn’t save the progress between sessions, therefore, if you can’t get an achievement during a single session (basically don’t quit out of it), then the chance is lost. Heck of a way to get 1,000 kills for example. I did the bats achievement (50 kills with a bat) this way and it was rough since I tend to only play for about half an hour to an hour most nights.
Anyway, we do have a few sales this week. I really do hope we get some new BC games soon. I would also like them to revisit some of the XBLA games that they have forgotten too. I would even settle for more Xbox Originals as I think they have only scrapped the surface on those. Enjoy the rest of your week.
GRID 2* | Backward Compatible | 85% | $3.74 |
GRID Autosport* | Backward Compatible | 85% | $3.74 |

BC Deals with Gold for the Week of December 25th, 2018
Sorry this wasn’t done earlier this morning, but you know Christmas. Over the past week I’ve been playing Gyromancer and Road Redemption which finally has an Xbox One port and is pretty awesome. It is certainly the Road Rash clone I’ve always been looking for. I had been part of the Kickstarter several years ago, and so I was happy to find out that I was getting my Xbox code finally. Good stuff, and I will be spending a lot of time playing it in the near future.
So here are the sales, not much but its Christmas week, so I wouldn’t expect much. Enjoy your holidays, I’m going to go back to enjoying mine. Take care.
Bound by Flame* | Backward Compatible | 80% | $3.99 |
Hunter: The Reckoning* | Backward Compatible | 30% | $10.49 |
Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad* | Arcade | 80% | $1.99 |
2018 Xbox BC Countdown Sale
Welp, I knew this was coming. The prices for this might come in waves as I attempt to work on this on a Friday where I have a lot of things going on. Remember, this is an one-man operation and I pay for my own darn site, lol (you can always donate though). Anyway, here are the sales. Enjoy!
Games with Gold for Month of January 2019
Looks like the new Games with Gold were announced this morning. Another rough list for sure. Racing games again rise to the surface with Xbox One while Xbox 360 titles are the ever popular Lara Croft and Far Cry entries. Celeste might be interesting, but this month certainly gets a ho hum from me again. Glad we get them, doesn’t mean I have to love them. Hope everybody is having a great holiday. Enjoy.
Xbox One
- Celeste (Janurary 1st-31st)
- WRC 6: FIA World Rally Championship (January 16th – February 15th)
Xbox 360
- Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (January 1st-15th)
- Far Cry 2 (January 16th-31st)
BC Deals with Gold for the Week of December 18th, 2018
Welp, I did start a new game last week named Gyromancer (actually it’s a very old game, but that’s besides the point) but honestly I don’t think I’ll play it much longer. It starts all decent in terms of difficulty and you can progress pretty darn well through the first 3 stages. However, once it gets to the 4th stage, it starts penalizing for something called idle twisting. The problem is that idle twisting is necessary in certain situations. So from that point forward, the game becomes an absolute drag. I might (maybe) try to just beat the game but I certainly won’t be going for all of the achievements.
Anyway, we do have some sales this week. Sadly, only one of them is actually BC though (and it’s one we have seen many many times). But if you do own Dogfight 1942 or Dungeon Defenders, this is a chance for you folks to pick up the DLC at a decent price. Rumor has it that there might be a sale that starts later this week but we’ll see what happens before we get excited. Enjoy the rest of your week.
Faery: Legends of Avalon* | Backward Compatible | 80% | $1.49 |
BC Deals with Gold for the Week of December 11th, 2018
Welp, I did finally find all of the riddles in Batman: Arkham Asylum. Honestly, you know what the last 5 riddles were. 3 Joker Teeth related and 2 in the Caves (mostly because I hate the Caves). The Joker Teeth honestly were harder than anything else, especially in the open areas like Arkham North and West. But I got them, did the Spirit of Arkham as well. Maybe in a few years I’ll come back and finish it at a tougher difficulty. I’m not sure what I’m moving on to now, we’ll see.
Here are the sales for this week. Only two are backwards compatible. Panzer Dragoon Orta is very tempting (and I have Persona 4 on disc). Abyss Odyssey also looks very good but its not BC and at this point, any XBLA title is going to have a very low chance of going BC. Can’t say it won’t happen, just it’s not likely. Enjoy the rest of your week folks.
Panzer Dragoon Orta* | Backward Compatible | 50% | $4.99 |
Persona 4 Arena* | Backward Compatible | 50% | $7.49 |
The Darkness, The Bureau: XCOM DeClassified, and Duke Nukem: Forever added to Backwards Compatibility!!!
Well this is certainly an interesting pairing. I can’t say these three games really go together, however I do actually own all of them in disc form. Two of them are sadly sealed (Darkness and XCOM) so I might actually look into getting them digitally so I don’t have to open them up so to speak. The nice thing about all three of these is that they are Tekken 2 Tag Team specials in that they are also on sale. Be careful though, some of these have DLC, so pay attention to that (and they are not on sale). Enjoy folks.
- The Darkness $3.99 (normally $19.99) (also on disc)
- Free DLC: Darkness MP Map: DM_Haunt
- The Bureau: XCOM DeClassified $3.99 (normally $19.99) (also on disc)
- DLC w/Achievements: Hangar 6: R&D $4.99
- Duke Nukem: Forever $3.99 (normally $19.99) (also on disc)
- DLC w/Achievements: The Doctor Who Cloned Me $9.99
BC Games with Gold for the Week of December 4th, 2018
Sorry for the late post on this one, I was out until late yesterday so I didn’t have a chance to post what I usually do. Last week, I finished the main story to Batman: Arkham Asylum and got my riddles up to 85%. I have every intention to get 100% of the riddles and then move on to something else. I just hope I’ll be able to get all of them with as few hints as possible.
As it turns out, we do have some sales this week. I am going to go ahead and include the ones that went BC this week as they were our only sales anyway. I would recommend any of those three, especially at those prices. Enjoy your week, I’ll be trying to catch up.
GAME | CONTENT TYPE | DISCOUNT | PRICE |
---|---|---|---|
Duke Nukem Forever* | Games On Demand | 80% | $3.99 |
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified* | Games On Demand | 80% | $3.99 |
The Darkness* | Games On Demand | 80% | $3.99 |
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Sonic Unleashed and Aliens vs Predator added the Backwards Compatibility!!!
Finally, freaking finally. Kingdoms of Amalur is in the BC wheelhouse. I was honestly expecting a remaster after THQ Nordic acquired the license from Electronic Arts. But no, I guess BC was in order instead. Maybe they really want to do a sequel instead, that would be nice. Anyway, also surprised to see Aliens vs Predator since it is a licensed movie game and I was not aware Sega would still have rights with that sucker. Sonic Unleashed is just making sure that all of the Sonic games are BC, I think Sonic 06 is the only one that is not at this point. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.
- Kingdom of Amalur $19.99 (cheaper on retail disc)
- DLC w/Achievements: Legend of Dead Kel $9.99
- DLC w/Achievements: Teeth of Naros $9.99
- Sonic Unleashed $14.99 (cheaper on retail disc)
- Aliens vs Predator $19.99 (about the same price on disc)
Games with Gold for Month of December 2018
Looks like the new Games with Gold were announced this morning. Pardon me if I think the Xbox One selections stink (which seems to be the case more often than not lately). I’ve already beat Never Alone a long time ago and I have little to no interest in Q.U.B.E. 2. With the 360 side, this is the first time I can remember an Xbox Original game given away for free. I’m glad I didn’t pay for it but I’m not sure I like the trend of using XBOs as Games with Gold bait. Dragon Age 2 is probably the only shining light in this group. Merry Christmas Everyone ??$@*^! Enjoy kids.
Xbox One
- Q.U.B.E. 2 (December 1st-31st)
- Never Alone (December 16th – January 15th)
Xbox 360
- Dragon Age II (December 1st-15th)
- Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction (XBO) (December 16th-31st)
