BC Deals with Gold for the Week of April 16th, 2019
Well I did finally beat the campaign of Road Redemption. Actually happened last Wednesday, something finally clicked (or I had finally filled out my skill tree enough) and I was able to put the Assassin to rest. Problem is as I think I mentioned, my 2 remaining accumulation achievements are stuck and won’t go past 50% and 16% respectively. Not sure if they reset or what but they are not going anywhere. I guess I’ll focus on beating it with other characters but that might be the end of the game for me so to speak. Or at least one like Ziggurat where I put it down for 6 months.
Anyway, minor sale this week because of the Spring sale. So if you haven’t picked up Cars 2 or Bound by Flame or didn’t pick up one of the other two when they were GWG, well here you go. I wish they would make Raven BC (despite the XB1 port) because I did buy those once upon a time and I just don’t see myself (where the 360 is) taking the time to play that one. I pretty much use that 360 to play old 360 games that will never see the light of XB1. Like the 360 Skyrim or NCAA Football 14…that sort of thing. Anyway, enjoy your Easter week.

BC Spring Sale 2019
Well, here is the Spring Sale, it lasts for the next week and a half. It’s hard for me to get excited for most of this since it is a bunch of regurgitated sales thrown together. Not to mention among the BC items, I’m not seeing any DLC or hard to get items. But perhaps there are a few nuggets here that are worth looking at. It might actually be more worth while to look through the Xbox One items and just try not to worry about BC for this sale. Prices will be populated throughout the day. Enjoy.
BC Deals with Gold for the Week of April 9th, 2019
Well, I used the Xbox Free Weekends to play Borderlands 2 and it was a pretty fun experience. I actually own the game on disc but as is usually the case with me and open world games, I never finished it. So I was able to play for a few hours, pick up some achievements and that was that. I did also play more Road Redemption but I think the achievement counters are stuck again. I don’t know why its so hard for some publishers to fix achievements correctly. I really need a game at this point that just works right (and isn’t too long).
Anyway, we have some sales. Supposedly there is supposed to be a much better sale later in the week but this should suffice for now. I don’t think Bolt has been on sale before and if you missed the last time Hydrophobia was on sale (though I think it was $2 only), this is a good time to pick it up. We’ll see what happens later in the week but enjoy your time until then. Take care.
BC Deals with Gold for the Week of April 2nd, 2019
Welp, I did get 2 of the 4 accumulation type achievements I had left in Road Redemption. Total Kills and kills with a samurai sword. Sadly, I still have not beaten the game despite getting to the last stage on a very regular basis now. Hopefully, I will be able to shake it loose in the next week or so. If not, I will probably move it to an off and on basis (like I did with Ziggurat) until I finally finish it off (or get the other two accumulation achievements).
Anyway, we do have some sales this week even if they are barely worth mentioning. Full Spectrum Warrior is certainly cheap enough but I have a feeling (like I do with any of the XBO games) that we’ll see it at GWG at some point. Maybe this is the week the Worms games are made backwards compatible. Ha, I say that every time they are on sale and it hasn’t worked yet. Enjoy.
Game | Type | Discount | Price |
---|---|---|---|
Full Spectrum Warrior* | Backward Compatible | 85% | $2.24 |
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 added to Backwards Compatibility!
I assumed this was coming, I just needed to wait a few hours. Not much to be said on this one outside of the fact that this does have a discontinued achievement so people should not be grabbing this in April expecting to 100% it. Since it will be digitally free in a few weeks, I can’t really recommend the disc either unless you already own it. So enjoy :)!
- Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 $19.99 (Free on April 16th!) (Also available on disc)
- DLC w/Achievements: GRAW 2 CO-OP Collection $4.99
- DLC w/Achievements: GRAW 2 CO-OP Collection 2 $4.99
Games with Gold for Month of April 2019
Looks like the new Games with Gold were announced this morning. Well I can say the Xbox One side is certainly interesting. I’ve had Technomancer (the unofficial sequel to Mars: War Logs) at home for a while now and never started it. It’s a tough game, or so I’ve heard but its a really good freebie and if you are willing to stick with it, it should provide many hours of fun. I’ve heard good things about Outcast too. On the 360 side, here we go with the XBO Star Wars games again. But the more interesting one is Ghost Recon AW2 which is not backwards compatible just yet. I assume that will be announced later today. Enjoy.
Xbox One
- Technomancer (April 1st-30th)
- Outcast – Second Contact (April 16th – May 15th)
Xbox 360
- Star Wars Battlefront II (XBO) (April 1st-15th)
- Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (April 16th-30th)
BC Deals with Gold for the Week of March 26th, 2019
Well, I have been playing Road Redemption quite a bit now since the patch came out. The patch helps a lot. My accumulation achievements seem to be working again and certain aspects such as how the game handles guns have been greatly improved. I’ve made it to the last stage a couple of times now since the patch came out and I don’t think that’s coincidence either. Also, I spent part of Friday and Saturday playing World Heroes 2 (Neo-Geo port). An easy completion, though I would be a liar if I didn’t say it had some frustrating moments (especially on Friday night).
So, we got some sales. It is mostly of the Batman/Lego Batman variety and then a little Oblivion thrown in as well but nothing earth shattering. The first two Lego Batman’s are still two of the best Lego games ever made. (only ones I’ve seen that come close are the Lego Harry Potters and possibly Lego LOTR) and I can’t say enough good things about Arkham Asylum. But don’t most people have it by now? Anyway, there are your sales and may we get another random game for BC later this week (we should have GWG too). Enjoy.

AirMech Arena & Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway added to Backwards Compatibility!!
Well this might be two games that almost nobody asked for. AirMech Arena is actually a free game but unless you really like real time strategy games, this is going to be a bear to play. Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway is a first person shooter by UBISoft that was just trying to get some FPS fans to buy it because they were bored with Call of Duty and the other games they were trying to emulate. I would say enjoy these two games but you probably won’t. So just enjoy your weekend instead.
- AirMech Arena FREE
- Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway $19.99 (disc copies also available)
BC Deals with Gold for the Week of March 19th, 2019
Welp, I finished Danger Zone. Went through all four tiers and got my ten platinums. Without trying, I had six platinums with regular play, and then I had an excruciating Saturday night where I got 3 and couldn’t get my fourth. So naturally, I woke up Sunday morning and got the last one in about ten minutes. Why I stay up when I’m obviously tired is never a thing I seem to figure out. As to what’s next, I might play some Road Redemption (recently received a patch which was supposed to fix the achievements). We’ll see.
We do have some very deep discounts this week. Basically if you didn’t have the base game or DLC for Deus Ex, Kane & Lynch 2, Sleeping Dogs, Thief or some of the Tomb Raider games, here is your chance to get it as cheap as humanly possible (without giving it away). I think I have everything for Sleeping Dogs (and also the X1 remastered disc) but I’ll double check on Deus Ex for sure. Maybe Thief will go BC this week with the way they are pricing everything. Most likely it will just be a random game or two. Enjoy (after the –More–).

Castlevania: Harmony of Despair added to Backwards Compatibility!
Well, I believe that was the last Castlevania game that had not made the backwards compatibility list. In fact, I’m struggling at all to think of a Konami game at all that is not BC. Perhaps Track & Field or something utterly out there (like Lucha Libre AAA) but that’s about it. But that’s how it is these days, the # of games that are not BC are down to really random titles for the most part. Here is hoping that the next random title is Gun or the Two Worlds’ games. Enjoy.
