Xbox Live Games with Gold Announced for January 2016

Xbox Live Games with Gold for January 2016 was announced today and unfortunately it’s not all that good with the 360 in mind.  We get Dirt Showdown (another Dirt game I’m not interested in) and Deus Ex (at least I get to replace my physical copy that I never played).  Xbox One side is more interesting as Killer Instinct Season 1 which also includes the original Killer Instinct in addition to all of the characters they released for that season.  Then there is also Zheros could at least be a fun humor diversion type game.  We shall see.

* Killer Instinct Season 1: Ultra Edition ($39.99 ERP): Available from January 1-31 on Xbox One

* Zheros ($19.99 ERP): Available from January 16-February 15 on Xbox One

* Dirt Showdown ($14.99 ERP): Available from January 1-15 on Xbox 360

* Deus Ex: Human Revolution ($14.99 ERP): Available from January 16-31 on Xbox 360

Xbox 360 BC – Gold Sales for the week of December 15th, 2015

The sales for this week can be found at this address here. Unfortunately, much like a couple of weeks ago, there is nothing for those who want to spread the 360 BC Love to their Xbox One console.  It’s probably for the best honestly since I’ve only set up my Xbox One to this point in my new home (moved over the weekend) and have not set up my Xbox 360.  But it’s also a little sad since the Xbox 360 sales are really flat unless you want to play some Mega Man.  I would also hate to break it to you folks, but everything after Mega Man 3 (not including X or Legends) was mostly rubbish anyway.  I am not saying that 9 or 10 are not good games, I’m just saying its the same thing they were doing with 4,5,6, etc.  Anyway, rant off…I’m skipping this week buying anything and just focusing on moving in my family.  Have a great week.

Xbox 360 BC – Gold Sales for the week of December 8th, 2015

The sales for this week can be found at this address here.  A little bit better this week as far as # of games available for cross platform play, but still pretty weak in my opinion.  Not to mention, we still have not had a Sega sale which would cover so much.  I do however expect a new list of games to show up next week since Sacred 3 goes up for free next week as well for those with Gold.  Enjoy!

Xbox 360 BC – Gold Sales for the week of December 1st, 2015

The sales for this week can be found at this address here.  Normally I would list them out for the 360 that are backwards compatible to the Xbox One but the problem is there are none (that we know of) that are backwards compatible.  Heck, I mean I am not even sure any of them fit into the “Perhaps this title will end up as a backwards compatible title”.  The two Darksiders games are there, the first one has the best chance of BC since the second one already has a Xbox One port…so $1.99 might be worth your gamble.  The only other one I’m interested in from a 360 point of view is the Destroy All Humans game.  It’s only $4, hard to find in disc form, but according to the BC vote forums, only about 1400 votes.  Hardly, a gimme.

Oh by the way, remember kids…CastleStorm is a backwards compatible game, and it went free (if you have Gold) as of today for the next two weeks.  That’s all I got, until next time.

Xbox Live Games with Gold Announced for December 2015

Xbox Live Games with Gold for December 2015 was announced today, and its a pretty good one with three Xbox 360 titles to add to the mix.  Castlestorm and Operation Flashpoint were already announced to be Backwards compatible, but Sacred 3 is a new announcement and welcome addition to the catalog.  Also for those who were wishing for Thief to become backwards compatible, well you can simply download the Xbox One version for free from December 16th to January 15th instead.  Enjoy!

* The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing ($14.99 ERP): Available from December 1-31 on Xbox One

* Thief ($29.99 ERP): Available from December 16-January 15 on Xbox One

* CastleStorm ($9.99 ERP): Available from December 1-15 on Xbox 360

* Sacred 3 ($19.99 ERP): Available from December 16-31 on Xbox 360

* Bonus: Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising ($9.99 ERP): Available from December 16-31 on Xbox 360

Xbox 360 BC – Gold Sales for the week of November 24th, 2015

Microsoft decided to post their deals for Black Friday a little early for Gold members, today in fact.  These deals don’t go live until the 24th for non-gold members, but I figured I would go ahead and get a jump and list these deals out for the Gold folks such as myself.

Edit: Updated with the sales from November 24th, and not just early Black Friday.

11/20 Update on Backwards Compatibility Voting

Welcome to the 18th and most likely final iteration of Backwards Compatibility Voting.  I know, I know, I said final.  Don’t be sad. It’s just the natural order of things.  After four months, it’s time to tabulate, evaluate and then move on.  There will still be a weekly column probably, but there is no sense (with Microsoft closing out ideas on their site now) to keep going in the same direction.  Oh and we have a new #1 weekly.  Now that’s the way to close it out!

Xbox 360 BC – Gold Sales for the week of November 17th, 2015

I’m not sure if I’m going to do this on a weekly basis, but it might be worth doing going forward.  Basically, this will list all of the BC confirmed titles on sale that week digitally from Xbox Live Gold.  I will list the percentage and the US dollars of the sale and give a link to the marketplace.  If you are in another country, I do apologize for not putting up the equivalent, but its not cut and dry as many of you are aware.  If something is $10 here, it might be 7 pounds or 10 Euro, just what they want to price it at.

11/13 Update on Backwards Compatibility Voting

Welcome to the 17th iteration of Backwards Compatibility Voting.

It finally happened this week, we got Backwards Compatibility in our Xbox One officially.  One hundred and four titles all there for us to enjoy (assuming we bought the original copy in some form or fashion).  As one could have easily guessed, voting was highly up last week among all titles not marked by Xbox as either in progress or has backwards compatibility.  Let’s check it out.
