Skate 3 and Scarygirl added to Backwards Compatibility!!

This week has had some nice surprises and they kept it up today.   Skate 3…finally, and all of the fanboys screaming about it can shut up.  Thank god…now just to worry about the COD Black Ops 2 people.  (Maybe I should start a fanboy group dedicated to screaming Gun (the Activision classic) at the top of our lungs).  The nice thing about Skate 3 is that it is currently on sale for only $9.99 (usually $11.99).  It does however have three pieces of DLC w/achievements (one of which is free) which I will mention below.  Scarygirl will probably be missed by most people but it’s an interesting arcade title that I could see myself picking up during a sale.  Good stuff, heck great stuff.  Have a wonderful time playing Mass Effect 2,3, Guardian Heroes and Skate 3 (or any of the other releases) this week, enjoy.

Guardian Heroes & Operation Flashpoint: Red River added to Backwards Compatibility!!

The one year anniversary week keeps going with another bang.  Guardian Heroes is a fantastic game and while I wasn’t entirely sure it was going to make it, but it did.  Operation Flashpoint: Red River is one of those only available on disc, but it does have one piece of DLC w/achievements (which is way overpriced at $6.99).  A couple of worthwhile games, and everybody who doesn’t have Guardian Heroes should go buy it now.  It’s only a $5, and you are guaranteed to have some fun.  Enjoy.

BC Deals with Gold for the week of November 8th, 2016

Welp, here are the deals for this week.  There might be a gem or two on the Xbox One side, but the 360 side is kind of barren with two Dirt games and Counterstrike GO.  All three of which if you had wanted them before, there were plenty of opportunities to get them and at better prices.  I think it would probably be better just to pin your hopes on getting more games added to BC this week.  Here is hoping they are good ones.  Enjoy.

Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 added to Backwards Compatibility!!

I finished Diablo III (Ultimate Evil Edition) for the Xbox 360 over the weekend.  100%ed and everything…6 lovely characters at level 70.  Go me (or something).

Anyway, this week is the 1 year anniversary of Xbox One goes backwards compatible.   I did expect some big announcements and the first day has started off with a bang.  We get not only Mass Effect 2 but also Mass Effect 3.  Which effectively makes the entire Mass Effect Trilogy part of the BC movement.  Now remember neither of these two games are available digitally to buy.  However, physically they are both cheap to get.  I myself have the Mass Effect trilogy which is a nice compilation package.  (Even if it does not have the DLC). Enjoy these two fantastic games.

Limbo added to Backwards Compatibility!?

This one is a bit confusing, but I guess a BC game is a BC game.  Limbo is actually available on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One already.  (They ported it over)  Furthermore, I think it was for a week earlier this year, Limbo on Xbox One was given away to just about everybody.  So everybody who liked Limbo pretty much has it, on both systems if they really had a thing for it.  I will point out that Limbo for the 360 is also available on retail/physical disc, via the Xbox 360 Triple Pack with Trials HD and Splosion Man.  It goes for about $10 and is quite the value.  Enjoy, I guess.

  • Limbo $9.99 (also available on physical disc as part of the Xbox Triple Pack)

Blue Dragon has been added to Backwards Compatibility (5.5 million!!’s)

I suppose it’s anti-climatic at this point because it was announced as confirmed a while back, but Blue Dragon is backwards compatible.  Awesome news.  The only part that might suck is that used copies start at around $20 and keep on going (and no digital copies are available).  Much like Lost Odyssey too, expect those used copies to fly out of whatever location they might be.  But it’s here, it’s glorious and I’m happy.

BC Deals with Gold for the week of November 1st, 2016

I never did pull the trigger on Dungeon Defenders…I’ll probably regret it in a month or so when its made BC.  Anyway, I am actually going back and finishing an old game.  Diablo III (Ultimate Evil Edition) on 360.  I still have the last achievement looming of 6 level 70’s.  Well I am proud to report my final character, a wizard is but two levels shy of this achievement.  I got really burned out after my fifth character and so this wizard has taken forever to get up.  But I’m within distance, and it should only take one play session to get the other two levels.

Anyway, we do have a few sales this week off some games that we don’t usually see on sale.  Nothing for me personally, Conan and Red Faction Guerilla despite not being BC are interesting sales as I think both are candidates for BC.  I have Conan on disc so even if they pull a Tekken Tag Tournament 2, I’m not going to buy in.  But enjoy, there might be a hidden gem in here somewhere.

Rage, Killer is Dead & Shred Nebula added to Backwards Compatibility!!!

Welp, it’s Thursday and that usually means a few BC games.  Furthermore we get two more retail games which are always welcome.  We also get Killer is Dead from my personal list which was what I considered a 1%er.  But then we had that leaked German list I think it was a while back which actually listed it.  So I guess it wasn’t so far fetched after all.  I’ve also heard good things about Rage but never personally played it.  Overall, a pretty good trio of games.

BC Deals for the week of October 25th, 2016

Here are the Major’s sales for this week.  I am officially done with Chapter 2 of Mars War Logs and no I did not choose the side of the Resistance (though I intend to replay Chapter 3 for the Resistance once I’m done anyway).  Still enjoying it, though wish the combat was a little more varied.  My typical fight goes strike, evade, strike, evade, strike, strike (because I was able to isolate somebody), evade, etc.  Oh and one of those strikes are probably crits if that matters.  I almost never use the nailgun unless its one of the monsters that jump at you (which is probably a good thing because ammo is pretty scarce).  Anyway, there are 3 games and a DLC pack this week on the BC List.  I will also note that I think Dungeon Defenders despite not being BC is having a fantastic sale this week with the game and DLC at great prices.  I think its gearing up to be BC soon, but we’ll see.  Enjoy kids.

Games with Gold for the month of November 2016

Hahahahahaha.  That’s the best thing I can think of to describe November’s GWG.  Both of the Xbox One games plus Monkey Island I own.  Yes, I own Dungeon Bros even though it has not came out yet.  I have a preorder from several months ago on the Microsoft Store that I bought with left over credit.  So, essentially I will have it digitally and physically.  I’ll probably download it, play it and then sell off my physical copy (unless I love it).  The same with Murdered: Soul Suspect.  I guess though I’ll have two less physical disc games by the end of the year (I’m sure I’ll be able to put them up on Half.com and get a couple of dollars if nothing else).  Enjoy.

Xbox One Games

November 1-30th – Super Dungeon Bros.

November 16th-December 15th – Murdered: Soul Suspect

Xbox 360 Games (both BC)

November 1-15th – Secret of Monkey Island SE

November 16-30th – Far Cry: Blood Dragon
