BC Deals with Gold for the Week of January 30th, 2018
Author: Michael Durr Published Date: January 30, 2018 Leave a Comment on BC Deals with Gold for the Week of January 30th, 2018
Still playing Diablo III, got through the second act with my necromancer. I’m probably about level 45, 46. At the rate I’m going I’ll probably be near level 70 once I finish act V. I do remember though once you get to level 60, things slow down considerably. I really need to start something else though because right now when I’m given a choice between gaming, movies and sleep…I’m choosing either movies or sleep. Anyway, here are the sales for this week. You will notice no 360 sales at all, BC or otherwise. And I checked Storeparser and a few other places too…nothing :(. It’s frustrating because this is becoming more commonplace now and there are still plenty of reasons to have 360 sales. On the X1 side, I would like to get Letter Quest to use my noggin so to speak. It’s also only $3. I’ll update the column once I see something, but until then just relax and enjoy.

Split/Second & Lego Indiana Jones 2 added to Backwards Compatibility!!

And there you have it folks. Two gimmes in BC land. One was just announced as Games with Gold about an hour ago, and the second, the original was put into BC last year. And it’s a Lego Game. Still waiting for Lego Movie and Lego Batman 2 to be put into BC (and much rather see those since the Indiana games were a bit of a borefest unfortunately). But it’s there, both are available on disc and liable to be pretty cheap compared to their digital counterparts (except for Split/Second which will be free soon). Enjoy, enjoy.
- Split/Second $19.99 (will be as part of Games with Gold Feb 2018) (about $10-$15 on disc)
- Lego Indiana Jones 2 $19.99 (about $10 on disc)

Games with Gold for Month of February 2018

Looks like the new Games with Gold are being announced today. I can’t say I’m surprised by Shadow Warrior…I’m just glad that I didn’t pick it up at $10 when I had a chance. Great game I hear though, so happy about that. Microsoft’s obsession with racing games on GOG continues with Split/Second. Split/Second is also not BC at the time of this writing so that means it will be made BC in the near future, possibly today. I’ll also snag Crazy Taxi, just because. Speaking of racing games, could we get Burnout Revenge in the near future, please and thank you. Enjoy kiddoes.
Xbox One
- Shadow Warrior (February 1st-28th)
- Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India (February 16th – March 15th)
Xbox 360
- Split/Second (February 1st-15th)
- Crazy Taxi (February 16th-28th)

BC Deals with Gold for the Week of January 23rd, 2018

Welp, still playing with my necromancer in Diablo III as you might imagine. I’m pretty close to being done with the second act and my character is level 42 I believe. As you might expect, I will be playing her until level 70 and finishing out the fifth act to get all associated achievements. At that point I should (key word on should) only have 2 or 3 achievements left (500 bounties, Level 70 hardcore and maybe the 50 item destruction item one). Then I’ll come back later in the year and tackle that. Remember, I’ve 100%ed the 360 version. While I am fairly confident I can 100% this version, I don’t want to suck myself into playing Diablo for the entire year.
Anyway, we got sales this week. On the Xbox One side, I’m not seeing anything really. In addition to what’s listed, there are some Pinball FX3 DLC packs that are on sale for those who appreciate them like I do. Just do a search for Pinball FX3 @ Xbox.com. On the 360 side, I have to think that SF3 becomes BC in short order. It just makes sense. Enjoy the week kiddoes.

Magic: The Gathering, Magic 2013 & Magic 2014 – Duels of the Planeswalkers added to Backwards Compatibility!!!

Well, this was certainly un-expected, and somebody in the Magic: The Gathering land should be tickled pink by this announcement. Now, if you remember, Magic 2012 was made BC back in May of 2016. So I guess this is everything else with the exception of 2015 which was put on both the 360 and XB1. Anyway, I can’t really say more about it since I’m not a Magic guy…I’ve tried playing it a few times and usually just leave scratch my head. Still, it’s a good thing, and 6 games this week is quite the improvement. Enjoy.

Sniper Elite V2, Far Cry 2 and Driver San Francisco added to Backwards Compatibility!!!

Wait…what? Holy crap kids. We have three excellent titles coming to backwards compatibility today. This also includes a TEKKEN TAG TEAM 2 Special. That’s right, because Far Cry 2 is also on sale this week. BC and a sale in the same week, whoop, whoop. I’m personally very excited for Driver since its a game that’s been part of my backlog for a very long time. It was also a game if I remember correctly that was rumored a long time ago for BC. Good stuff, and and a good way to start off the year. Enjoy.
- Sniper Elite V2 $29.99 (also available cheaper on disc)
- Far Cry 2 $5.99 (also available on disc) (on sale this week)
- Driver: San Francisco – only available on disc (goes for about ~$15)

BC Deals with Gold for the Week of January 16th, 2018

Well, this would be the 4th week in a row when the only thing I’ve talked about are sales or lack there of and nothing else. No BC games, extra news or anything to get excited about. Heck, it’s not even exciting around here, I’m staring at freezing rain and sleet contemplating my next move (going back to bed sounds nice).
I am playing Diablo III on Xbox One, I did start my necromancer and she’s level 33 already and I barely made it through the first act. I had several achievements also bugged as well which while they did fix themselves nearly 24 hours after, it certainly dampened my spirits about playing. Actually I haven’t played except to check my achievements since that happened and that was Saturday.
Welp, here are the sales. Lots on the Xbox One side, not too much on the 360 side. Better than the last couple of weeks though. The Far Cry stuff is interesting because with the exception of Far Cry 4, I would think the other FC’s would get BC billing soon enough. Those are pretty cheap prices to boot as well. Well, take some time to think about it and hopefully we’ll get a BC announcement this week…hopefully. Enjoy kids.

BC Deals for the Week of January 9th, 2018

So, this week I turned to an old friend. Diablo III. Now as some of you faithfuls remember I 100% the 360 version last year. Well, with the Necromancer class on sale last week, I felt obliged to open up my Xbox One version of the game and import my characters. Needless to say I got a lot of achievements within the first couple of hours I put into the game due to those characters. I also realize that my Demon Hunter & Witch Doctor are ridiculously OP.
Anyway, I didn’t even start a Necromancer yet but I have a feeling I will in the next few days. Will I 100% this version too? I dunno. I’m not too keen on doing 500 bounties again (nor another level 70 hardcore since for some reason my level 70 hardcore crusader didn’t pop the achievement, even after gaining a few paragon points) and I’m not sure how hard the Necromancer specific achievements are. But we’ll see.
Anyway, the sales this week pretty much stink again even for the Xbox One. I know I sound like a broken record but we need some new BC games. These two below have been on sale plenty of times and everybody who wants them, has them by now. Have a good week and enjoy it no matter what you do.

BC Deals with Gold for the Week of January 2nd, 2018

The first post of the new year. Rejoice. Alright done? Good. My new year was rather uneventful, I was pretty forced to stay up until about 1:00am. Nope, not by my wife, she would have been going to bed too. Nope, this was all about my neighbors who decided to have fireworks until then. I guess I’m lucky they passed out by then. Anyway, I’m still playing Infinite Minigolf for some reason, though I did get a couple of the harder achievements. I also started Romancing Saga 2 which really makes me miss systems like the SNES and the original Sony Playstation. It’s so good, really. I doubt I’ll 100% it, but I hope I do beat it.

One, that 360 sale is pathetic. I know we had a good holiday sale…but it’s still pathetic. The Xbox One sale is better, I will probably pick up the DLC for Diablo III if nothing else. It would have made more sense to put Van Helsing II on sale as the first one was already a GWG and the third one currently is. At least try and give a little enticement. Anyway, hopefully we get some new BC games this week. It is a new year and we should certainly try to start it off right. Enjoy folks.

BC Deals for the Week of December 26th, 2017

While I can’t really say I played all that much when it came to games in the past week (told you that was going to happen), I did receive some well appreciated games for Christmas. I don’t like when my wife and extended family waste $60 on a game so my list was solely games that were $30 and under with most being near that $20 mark. As a result, I received Batman: Enemy Within, Victor Vran, Pillars of Eternity, Town of Light, and Final Fantasy XV for the Xbox One. And that was had at the cost of two new games from my estimates. I already installed Batman last night, and even though there are only three episodes available at this time, I’ll probably burn through it. I hope at least the 4th episode comes out before I finish the first three. (of course then there is always that cliff hanger…)
As you might expect, there was no post by the Major about the sales today. However, I do have a couple of links that will show you what those sales are. Nothing really here unless you would like a copy of Jet Set Radio. It’s just as well since most of you are probably still reeling from Microsoft’s holiday sale. Maybe we’ll get back to some normalcy next week, maybe we’ll have a BC game or two as well. Hope you guys had a nice Christmas and have a Happy New Year. Take care.
