Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Midnight Club: LA, and Rockstar Table Tennis added to Backwards Compatibility!!!
Author: Michael Durr Published Date: June 7, 2018 Leave a Comment on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Midnight Club: LA, and Rockstar Table Tennis added to Backwards Compatibility!!!
Well, we knew it was coming, sorry about the late post…I was doing important things like having lunch with my wife which honestly hasn’t happened in a few weeks. Anyway, glad these three are here. I have San Andreas on digital, supposedly there is some issue with that currently but I expect that to be fixed by no later than tomorrow. Now, Rockstar has also come out and said that GTA and Midnight Club were supposed to work with the Xbox OG Discs as well which would be a revelation. But I’m guessing that was a typo. If it is the case though, maybe this opens the way for Vice City or III? (We can only hope) Anyway, links are below. Remember all three are on sale this week which makes even a little sweeter. Enjoy.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas* | Disc or Digital | 35% | $9.74 |
Midnight Club: Los Angeles Complete* | Disc or Digital | 35% | $9.74 |
Rockstar Table Tennis* | Disc or Digital | 60% | $5.99 |

Biggest Xbox Sale of the Year aka E3 Sale!!

I could spend a while talking about the sales but honestly I’ll just post it here for you guys to look at. This has been a hard week on me (for reasons I’m sure you could care less about) and I’m just not in the mood to blab endlessly on (I’ll save that for my RWBY Volume 5 review for tomorrow). Enjoy. Remember, the Rockstar Trio will be going to BC today (GTA: SA, Midnight Club LA and Table Tennis). But I’ll post that later as well. All sales after the — MORE — (and yes I am upset I bought Morrowind way too soon, oh well it’s really worth the $7.49 I have to say). Enjoy.

BC Deals with Gold for the Week of June 5th, 2018
Author: Michael Durr Published Date: June 5, 2018 Leave a Comment on BC Deals with Gold for the Week of June 5th, 2018
Well, honestly I haven’t done much gaming this past week. Mostly because I’ve been working on blu-ray reviews or doing research for blu-ray reviews (I watched all four volumes of RWBY in about 2 weeks time in order to prepare for the 5th volume which I’m currently working on).
I did however accomplish one thing gaming wise that that bugged me for over a decade. The Dig achievement in Dig Dug. Yes, I know it sounds silly. But for some reason last week, I figured I would give it a shot in the Xbox One version. Five lives, no problem. Did it on the second try. I even died before completing the stage (dug the last block as I got killed) and it still popped. Well, heck the 360 version which I haven’t touched since ’07 can’t be that much different. Boy, was I wrong.
The 360 version of the achievement only gives you 3 lives. Plus, you have to beat the stage and there are glitches with the achievement too. It took me roughly 15 tries that day before I got it. I basically would try it 2 or 3 times, then get frustrated, go off and do some fatherly/husband type thing and then try it again a couple of hours later. Rinse, repeat. Finally, right after my son went to bed, I got it on my second try. I finally 100% Dig Dug (360) after over 10 years. Lego Batman (360) had been my previous longest completion, welp Dig Dug surpassed it.
Anyway, we have sales. What’s cool about this sale is that 3 of the 4 games I’m going to list aren’t actually BC yet, but probably will be at 11:00am noon today (CST). So it’s a Tekken Tag Team 2 Special, but kinda in reverse. I already have San Andreas, but I would be all over Midnight Club or Table Tennis if those games interested me. Still, it’s really good of Rockstar to offer these on sale the same week as they go BC. Enjoy.

GTA San Andreas, Midnight Club LA, and Rockstar Table Tennis coming to Backwards Compatibility Soon!!!

Well, you can pencil these in the soon column. According to Rockstar Games and confirmed by Major Nelson, these three will be BC next week. I own GTA San Andreas and spent a good amount of time with it. But much like every freaking GTA game on the planet, I get stuck on one mission and then go off and play something else. Maybe this will convince me to give it another go. Ehhhh, maybe. I’m still hoping for a Vice City remake on Xbox, that’s what I keep wishing for. But good news either way, and a nice way to end the month. Enjoy kiddoes.

Finally, it only took them all day, but here we are. Anyway, I didn’t really do much last week. Played some more Dig Dug (yeah I know), and I am getting closer to finishing Poker Night 2. It was an off week for me, but that’s okay…I’ve exceeded what I wanted to do this month by far. I feel like starting an RPG of some sort since I’m not getting very far on Romancing Saga or Y’s (sad to say). But it is what it is I guess then. Enjoy the sales, even though they are few and far between.

Saints Row, Saints Row: Gat out Of Hell and Toybox Turbos added to Backwards Compatibility!!!
Author: Michael Durr Published Date: May 29, 2018 Leave a Comment on Saints Row, Saints Row: Gat out Of Hell and Toybox Turbos added to Backwards Compatibility!!!
Now, that’s a lot better. Three games in one nice bite. Unless there is a Saints Row game I’ve never heard of, all of them are now BC. I would expect Gat out of Hell to be a future GWG, just not this month if you catch my drift. Also, if I remember correctly, I might have a copy of that game in my closet somewhere (another of those, bought and never played *sigh*). Turbos looks like it might be fun as well, one of those rare 360 digital only 1,000 achievement pointer games. So all in all, a very good selection. Enjoy.
- Saints Row $9.99 (available also on disc)
- Free DLC: Exclusive Unkut Pack
- Free DLC: The Ho Ho Ho Pack
- Saints Row: Gat out of Hell $14.99 (available also on disc)
- Toybox Turbos $9.99

Games with Gold for Month of June 2018
Author: Michael Durr Published Date: May 29, 2018 Leave a Comment on Games with Gold for Month of June 2018
Looks like the new Games with Gold are being announced today. This is pretty ugly stuff, for the second month in a row we could argue the 360 is getting the better releases. I have no idea what they are doing offering Free DLC for a game that is Free in the GWG selection. Not a good look. I’m only really happy about Lego Indiana Jones 2 which I never would have bought, but I will gladly play for free. Also, I haven’t seen any official sales yet for the 360 this week, so hopefully I will be able to post that later. Enjoy…something…I’m not sure.
Xbox One
- Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia (June 1st-30th)
- Smite: Gold Bundle (June 16th – July 15th)
Xbox 360
- Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed (June 1st-15th)
- Lego Indiana Jones 2 (June 16th-30th)

Battlefield 1943 has been added to Backwards Compatibility!

Apparently, a lot of people really like this game. This also looks to be added to the EA Access Game Vault, so that’s a good thing as well. It’s crazy though that at the beginning of this, they would announce 3,4, even 6 in one day for XBLA games. Now one makes news. Which does beg the question, when am I getting Outpost Kaloki X or any game from the Worms series? I’ll keep hoping I guess. Enjoy.

BC Deals with Gold for the Week of May 22nd, 2018

So I did actually finish Gone Home. The speedrun for the diaries went pretty darn well as I got it on my second try thanks to doing some good notes on my own. The guides never point to what’s going on in your own head, but my notes did. In a weird moment, I decided to play the Xbox One version of Dig Dug and got 16/20 achievements. It’s probably the four you are thinking of that I missed. I might get one or two more, but most likely will not 100% it because of that stupid dig achievement (the one where you have to dig everywhere on one stage). Its the same achievement that kept me from 100% the 360 version of Dig Dug. There I go, spending a paragraph talking about a 35 year old game. Moving on.
We do have some sales this week. It is a combination of “Often on Sale” and “Occasionally on Sale”. So some of you might find something in this list that you accidentally missed one other time or not. I’m kinda cruising this week game wise and kicking back and watching a couple of movies with my night time instead. Right now, I’m watching Cloud Atlas. Hopefully it comes together in the last hour because right now it’s flipping extremely fast through the various stories that make it up. Anyway, enjoy kids.
