Elea – Episode One (Xbox One)
Often on this site, I have talked about my deep appreciation for the publisher known as Soedesco. I have imported their physical games from Europe, I have bought some of their games here in the States, and have at the very least had an interesting experience with each of their games. They give the smaller developers a chance in a very crowded marketplace. As it turns out, when Soedesco did an open call for reviews of this game, I jumped right in and surprisingly they were more than willing to send me a code. Space Adventures, Devastating Secrets, and Wonderful Revelations, I’m certainly in.
BC Deals with Gold for the Week of September 4th, 2018
Well, I did finish the 3rd episode of Minecraft story over the past week. I will probably finish all of the episodes before the end of the year but I’m not all excited about it. Instead, I started Elea Episode One last night which is a walking simulator with light puzzles and some peril. At least that’s what it seems like through the first couple of chapters. Of course I will have the review posted by the time this hits next week, I’m hoping by Friday (I gave myself a deadline of Saturday but I’m going to try and finish early).
Anyway, we have sales today. It’s a lot of sales to be honest including some DLC as well as a couple of Xbox Original games. Destroy All Humans @ $2.99 is a steal, that’s for sure. I’ll work on links for the 80+ titles here but it will probably take me a while since the Major has not posted the official list and instead I only have to work with the way TA does it. Hit the –Read More–. Enjoy.
EDIT: 1:30PM Update – Official Link to Major Nelson’s sales page. There are some hold overs from the previous week but I won’t try to list them separately. If you think I’m missing something between last week’s list and this one, please drop me a line. Thanks!

BC Deals with Gold – Updated – August 29th, 2018
Well, certainly color me surprised. Don’t tell Microsoft they don’t have a 360 sale this week, because they do. A lot of good DLC on sale too, I’ll probably pick up the Asura’s Wrath DLC if nothing else. On the regular game side, a lot of good deals that we have probably seen before. However, if you haven’t gotten these prior to today, things like Remember Me @ $4.99 (not BC) or Duck Tales (Arcade Version) (BC) @ 3.74 worth picking up. Click the –Read More–. Enjoy!

Coming Soon, a Review for Elea – Episode 1 on Xbox One
Sometimes, if you ask, you shall receive. Most of you who read this site regularly know that I love to play Ziggurat, a game published by Soedesco. In fact, I’m very high on most games that are published by them and I’ve tweeted them a few times and have received responses which is uncommon but very appreciated.
Elea, developed by Kyodai and published by Soedesco is coming out September 6th to Xbox One and Steam. On a chance, after a Twitter post on Elea, I decided to tweet Soedesco asking to review the game. They surprisingly said yes (I did link them to previous reviews I had written so maybe that played some small role), and provided me with a code.
I expect to have a review done by September 8th, a couple of days after the game releases. I will be able to play it before September 6th, but they did also inform me a large patch is going up pre-release so I want to make sure that the screens I capture speak to the finished game, not a pre-build.
If you want to find out more about the game, click the picture above and you will be taken to Elea’s official site. Thanks and enjoy your Labor Day weekend.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 added to Backwards Compatibility…errr whatever.
Pardon me, if I just don’t give a crap :). Yes, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was added today. All of you folks can stop complaining now. Finally, now we can move on to more important titles like Gun, Rumble Roses XX, and Outpost Kaloki X. I’m semi-serious. Enjoy.
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – $14.99 (19.99 Normally) (cheaper on disc)
Games with Gold for Month of September 2018
Looks like the new Games with Gold are being announced today. I’m not sure how to feel about it. I have both of the Xbox 360 games, except that I guess I can get rid of my physical copy of Lego Star Wars III. On the Xbox One side, I am mostly looking forward to Livelock, but I also have a physical copy of Prison Architect. So, really there isn’t much for me this month (unless I’m looking to free up a couple of physical copies), but hopefully you folks aren’t as unlucky as I am. Enjoy.
Xbox One
- Prison Architect: Xbox One Edition (September 1st-30th)
- Livelock (September 16th – October 15th)
Xbox 360
- Lego Star Wars III (September 1st-15th)
- Sega Vintage Collection: Monster World (September 16th-30th)
BC Deals with Gold for the Week of August 28th, 2018
Well, I am about halfway through the third episode of Minecraft Story. The story is slightly picking up but it certainly isn’t at the level of some of the other Telltale games I have played. It’s more of the fact that I have all eight episodes, and now I feel some weird need to finish them all. Oh wait, that’s not weird, that’s the way I always am.
I also finished my first ACA NeoGeo game last week, Metal Slug. 100%ed it in 3 nights (at about half an hour a night). It had some challenge, but practice made it perfect and I moved on. I will attempt Burning Fight next in a week or so.
I am also playing Ziggurat still, I have all of the perks now. The only things left that I can reasonably get is unlocking all of the characters (two left) and completing the bestiary (missing 11 Bone Summoners). At that point, it will leave me with 6 missing achievements, all of which I am okay with admitting I’m not good enough to complete. But I’ve gotten way more than my money’s worth when it comes to that game.
Anyway, if you haven’t figured it out, I’m being long and drawn out because there are no 360 sales right now I’m aware of right now. Here is the sales page for Xbox One. There are some good sales in there, but I was hoping for some 360/BC sales for the week. Unfortunately, there wasn’t even any new BC announcements last week either. I guess due to Gamescom, that just wasn’t the priority. Hopefully that changes, and we have something to talk about a little later. Enjoy.
10:30 am Edit: I have added the real link to Major’s page above. Still nothing for the 360, but progress I guess.
BC Deals with Gold for the Week of August 21st, 2018
Welp, for those who don’t know I turned 43 this weekend. It was a nice birthday, I enjoyed it with my family (my wife and son) and that was that. Nothing special, just simple and laid back. Honestly that’s all you could ask for. On the gaming front, I’m nearly through episode 2 of Minecraft Story mode. I’m sticking with it for the time being, and I wish I could say why (because I have no clue). But I am. I did buy some of those NeoGeo games (Burning Fight, King of Monsters, Metal Slug) from last week and will be trying to squeeze them in for the next month or so. Oh, and of course I got the Sleeping Dogs 360 DLC.
Anyway, we do have some sales this week. A lot of things we have seen on sale before. I am still secretly hoping that the Risens go to backwards compatibility at some point. But perhaps it is just so I have an excuse to buy them at these super low prices. Enjoy your week.
Escape Dead Island | Backward Compatible | 75% | $4.99 |
Injustice: Gods Among Us | Backward Compatible | 60% | $7.99 |
Sacred 3 | Backward Compatible | 75% | $4.99 |
Sacred Citadel | Backward Compatible | 75% | $2.49 |
Saints Row | Backward Compatible | 75% | $2.49 |
Saints Row 2 | Backward Compatible | 75% | $2.49 |
Saints Row IV | Backward Compatible | 75% | $8.74 |
Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell | Backward Compatible | 75% | $3.74 |
Saints Row: The Third | Backward Compatible | 75% | $3.74 |
Tomb Raider: Legend & Tomb Raider: Anniversary added to Backwards Compatibility!!
Most of us knew these two were coming, it was just a matter of when. Tomb Raider: Legend is the better one of the bunch but at $1.99 (Tekken Tag Team 2 Specials), they are excellent pick ups. I will say, I do think both of them will be future GWG candidates but $4 isn’t going to break the bank. In addition, both of them share DLC packs (the achievements show up under Legend) but they are unfortunately still highly priced at $9.99 each. Still a couple of worthy additions, and worth playing. Enjoy.
- Tomb Raider: Anniversary $1.99 (on sale) (normally $19.99) (also on disc)
- Tomb Raider: Legend $1.99 (on sale) (normally $19.99) (also on disc)
- DLC w/Achievements: Tomb Raider: Anniversary Episodes 1 & 2 $9.99
- DLC w/Achievements: Tomb Raider: Anniversary Episodes 3 & 4 $9.99
BC Deals with Gold for the Week of August 14th, 2018
Well, I finished Diablo III. I ran through the remaining 30 bounties and never looked back. The rest of the week I spent revisiting a couple of older games in Pinball FX3 (spending the bulk of my time on the Universal Classics tables) and Ziggurat (finally got all of the perks and all remaining items in the Armory). I also started Minecraft Story Mode for some silly reason. I got through half of it and then put it down. I’ll try to make myself get through the first episode this week, but I can’t guarantee after that I’ll keep trying. Compared to Batman or Borderlands Telltale, it’s not exciting or funny at all.
There are a ton of sales this week. Lots of good stuff, especially if you have held out on Season Passes or the like. On the X1 (and 360) side it should be noted that quite a few of the NeoGeo ports are on sale. This is the first time they have been and if you like the ports at all, I would recommend buying one so hopefully we can see future sales of them. $4.79 to me is a sweet spot and $7.99 is no offense, but not working for me. Also among those NeoGeo ports is a Xbox original on sale as well (King of Fighters; Neowave). One final thing, in the Non-BC department, the rest of the Sleeping Dogs DLC is on sale, woohoo! Anyway, that’s it for this week, we should see a BC announcement today, hopefully it’s something good. Remember to hit the -Read More- for all of the titles. Take care kids.
