Welcome to the 10th iteration of Backwards Compatibility Voting. Since I got my Xbox One, basically all I have done is play with some apps, download plenty of stuff, and play Pinball FX2. Not exactly a productive way to showoff the system, but it has been fun nevertheless. I did however get an invite for a Closed Beta to Fable Legends and the stress test is from 2pm to 6pm on Saturday. Odd timing if you ask me, but if I’m around I will give it a shot. Anyway, on to some voting analysis.

Yes, I kept the Bottom 5. I’m not sure why. It’s like watching a trainwreck and only barely trying to turn your head away when there is a collision. Nier & Wolf Among Us are no surprise unfortunately and to a certain extent neither is Jericho as the list’s resident Jekyll and Hyde. However, Alpha Protocol and Deadly Premonition, two titles which have a slim chance of making BC are the bottom of the barrel. That’s not a good sign and hopefully they get a spark back up the lists where they belong to be.
On to the good stuff, Deadpool still in first, but this is worth mentioning that it did not eclipse a 4 percent uptick for the first time ever in this countdown. I would venture to say that possibly in the next month, we might see a title or two take it over. At this point, I’m not exactly which of the 100+ titles I voted for it will be.
Moving on, you will notice that two of the top 15 that are usually in the 2nd and 3rd spot, NCAA Football 14 and Outrun Online Arcade have slipped to #8 and #12 respectively. Still good showings, but a bump in the road for both. Also Gun comes back with a strong #7 finish and still remains my #1 underdog contender for BC. Activision, come on throw us a bone. I’m begging you.
But what’s strangest on the list has to be the 2-5 candidates. Sherlock Homes & Sam & Max. Apparently 9 people got together and voted these games up. (3 forgot to vote for Crimes & Punishments though). The funny part, next week we could expect at least 2 of these to show up in the bottom 5. I’m still holding out for something to happen with the Sam & Max games in terms of a sale, re-do, GWG offering, etc.
Crysis 3 continues to be strong with a solid #6 showing as the game gets plenty of support from its GWG offering. I still haven’t found time to play in the multiplayer portion of the game. I really should, but you know how it goes. Rumble Roses, my favorite risqué adult game, does manage to grab a top 10 finish. Btw, for those who do enjoy females wrestling, I would suggest watching NXT (WWE Network or Hulu Streaming), really good stuff.
Anyway, to round out the discussion, it was nice to see Dragon Age 2 and Overlord 2 on the list. Both of those despite not being as well known as their original counterparts have really pushed themselves up the list week in and week out. Of course, the new Dragon Age title, Inquisition announced a GOTY edition this week and probably a bunch of people now want to go back to play this forgotten gem.
