8/28 Update on Backwards Compatibility Voting
Welcome to the 6th iteration of Backwards Compatibility Voting. Well, last week there was supposed to be some big announcement of more games confirmed for Backwards Compatibility. What did we get? Nothing and more nothing. Furthermore, Microsoft made the announcement that the Preview program is almost filled to capacity. Therefore, yours truly when he gets an Xbox One in September probably won’t be able to get in. Which is sad, since I spend a couple of hours every week on this topic and I would be perfect for that program. Why? Because, I would like this column to evolve beyond the votes. The votes as you will see in a few minutes are dwindling down and won’t hold together this column forever. Much can happen though…and let us go ahead and dive into the main course.

8/21 Update on Backwards Compatibility Voting
Welcome to the 5th iteration of Backwards Compatibility Voting. This week we did have a couple of announcements that I would like to share before we get to the numbers. The first being that there was hope that Microsoft would share a much bigger list of BC titles this week, maybe getting that list of now 24-32 (depending on your source) a lot closer to a hundred. Haven’t seen it yet, but we still got today or early next week perhaps. Also, and float this in the wishful thinking file, but it’s possible original Xbox titles get emulated as well in a Twitter conversation captured this week. While I would love to see Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic or Shenmue or Return to Castle Wolfenstein, I just don’t see this happening. And if it is anything like the process for 360, we will get the original Fable & Halo and they will call it a day.

8/14 Update on Backwards Compatibility Voting
Welcome to the 4th iteration of Backwards Compatibility Voting. Due to Gamescom going on last week, we certainly saw an uptick in voting. As a result we got perhaps the oddest collection of games yet with only a few familiar faces. This sucker is odd, but we also have monthly voting as well which is sure to smooth things out. Let’s go shall we?

8/07 Update on Backwards Compatibility Voting
Welcome to the 3rd iteration of Backwards Compatibility Voting. Some old titles, some very new titles, some I am still scratching my head about and wondering who…pray tell who was voting for these. But numbers don’t lie, unless they are in a crowded bar and had four shots of tequila. Then they start to tell you all sorts of things and want to sleep around with punctuation marks. It escalates quickly, and nobody is spared. Let’s move on, shall we?

Gamescom Announcements: More BC Than you can Shake a Stick At
Some good announcements from Gamescom today, check out the following:
Kotaku – It looks like all these Xbox 360 games will soon run on the One
Now, if you click on More, well I’ll try to summarize what all this means. Continue reading “Gamescom Announcements: More BC Than you can Shake a Stick At” →
BC Update 8/3/15 – Gears of War series added to BC, Shadow Complex too!
As in the news that should surprise no one: All the Gears of War Games Will Be Backwards Compatible on Xbox One; I have added the Gears of War series to the Spreadsheets and Website table. In addition, percentages have been adjusted for Rainbow Six I/II, Overlord I/II and NCAA Football 2014 upwards while Condemned I/II, Nier, and Killer is Dead have taken a tumble downwards.
12:00pm update: Apparently I don’t read enough because Shadow Complex was added as well to the BC list. I actually own this one, but not sure I have a reason to revisit it. Still more titles is always good.
Enjoy 🙂
